Will upvotes on imported posts be included in the authors reputation when that user joins? Or does it make sense to wait with upvoting until the user actually joined?

Relevant code is here, for those so minded.

Reputation will be transferred to the correct user when content is claimed - it works technically by deleting the user currently assigned to each post, and then transferring the post and reputation change to the user who's claiming the posts.

That being said, it's my understanding that we are not transferring current upvotes over. Just starting with a clean slate?

Correct @ThomasMyron - this just means that if you vote for something here before the author claims it, they'll still get the reputation for that vote when they do.

Point of curiosity: what about users who deleted their user on SE in protest over how Monica was treated? They might want to come here. Is there any way for them to claim their content?
