How do I write my own character sketch?

+1
−0

I have to write a character sketch, and I have to pick an object (example: vase, key, dress, ect.) to base the character on. So the object has to be important, but my professor doesn't want it to be a plot device. Also more showing than telling (of course). Is a character sketch like a mini story? Because how am I supposed to show them the character if they are not doing anything, like in a story they are doing something? I'm really really confused! I looked at character sketch examples online, but most of them are essays analyzing works of literature, and weird outlines that tell you orders to write about the character.

Does anyone have an example of THEIR OWN character sketch of their original character?
