I've seen 'owl' mentioned many times in the context of writing. Some libraries have an 'owl's nest', some universities have writing workshops by the same name. If you google 'owl writing' you will find things like: `Welcome to the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL)`, and `Oral & Writing Lab (OWL) | Rio Salado College`. Other searches yield things like `Welcome to the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL)` and `Owl's Nest - Union County College`. Is this a coincidence, or is there some tradition of relating writers to owls, and thus naming the places they frequent after that bird?
