I'm an online tutor. I don't know that online writing classes "do" help improve writing skills, but I know they can. It's a matter of finding a tutor who is not only skilled, but compatible with your personality. Of course you must decide that for yourself. You should understand that testimonials are NOT always reliable. Many are paid for and many are selected for their laudatory content. No tutor in his/her right mind would post a negative testimonial. Right? You should also have an idea of what your weaknesses are and you should ask for help specifically on that subject. If you don't know your weaknesses, a good tutor should ask for a sample of your writing and then point out where he/she thinks you need help before you commit.
