"Cinderella" is a story with a heroine and villains, but the villains don't die in the story. That's because while the villains are "bad," they aren't so to the point of killing someone (unlike the witch in the "Wizard of Oz" or the queen in "Snow White.") Therefore, the step- mother and sisters don't suffer the death penalty, only the loss of a "race" to marry the prince.
