It would be a bad thing if you hated the genre overall. Or if you looked down on it. I will never understand people who want to write something they distain because they think it's "easy" or where the money is. But that's not you. Fantasy is a huge genre and no one could possibly love everything in it. You're not so big on some books/series, including some popular stuff. But you like others. That's okay. **What's important is that you've read widely within the genre and you have a good sense of what you like and _why_ you like it.** Write stuff you would want to read.
