I am currently in the research phase of writing my first novel that is based on a true historical event. Having obtained a ton of sources in more than three different languages, I have come across multiple firsthand accounts pertaining to the chain of events I will be writing about. Since the firsthand accounts are detailed both in terms of the characters' thoughts and dialogue, it would be the perfect point of reference. However, as it would be my first time trying fiction, I still was not able to conceptualize how I can stick to the true events and points of view (as in the firsthand accounts) but still give it the flow of a novel?
