Show us she's capable, not someone to be pitied. If she's blind, she would have to learn how to better use her remaining senses. So when someone wonders "How hard can it be to rob a little old blind lady"? She can _hear_ him creeping around just fine, and she's more than capable of throwing a lightning bolt in his direction. Maybe people seek her out for her knowledge. Maybe they're afraid she'll put a hex on them. But she's not a helpless victim.
