I had started writing my novel in the first person. Later on, I planned some plot twists along the way. For these plot twists to happen, the protagonist shouldn't be aware of the consequences/interpretation of certain events; some go back to when she was in school. Eventually, my protagonist will experience a moment of reckoning towards the end of the book. I don't know how to pull this off when the protagonist is the narrator. Is she supposed to be aware of everything happening around her and **_to_** her when I'm writing in the first person? Or is it possible to navigate this?
