Discussion: Edit history from Stack Exchange not imported - copyright problem?
I noticed that only the last edit from Stack Exchange is imported, and attributed as a whole to the original poster.
I think this is problematic from a copyright point of view, since if other people have made substantial edits to a post, they may also hold a valid copyright at parts of a post.
I don't know if such substantial edits actually happened on writing, but I think it is at least a latent risk.

From my understanding, the way I've done things here is okay.
The CC BY-SA license essentially says that you must attribute licensed work in a [reasonable] manner specified by the licensor. The licensor in this case is Stack Overflow - not the original authors; they are the licensor to Stack Overflow, and Stack Overflow is the licensor for the use of content here. The manner in which Stack Overflow requires attribution to be made is detailed in the Attribution Required blog post (the requirements haven't changed):
- Visually indicate that the content is from Stack Overflow or the Stack Exchange network in some way. It doesn’t have to be obnoxious; a discreet text blurb is fine.
- Hyperlink directly to the original question on the source site (e.g., http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12345)
- Show the author names for every question and answer
- Hyperlink each author name directly back to their user profile page on the source site (e.g., http://stackoverflow.com/users/12345/username)
I'm particularly interested in point 3 there - only the author names are required for each question and answer, not subsequent contributors.
