I'm done with my first novel, and I'm about to start writing to agents/publishers. The only detail I don't have yet is a good title! I have a couple of ideas but both suck. I had the illusion that after three drafts the name would be obvious, but... it turns out it isn't. This is something I don't remember having seen discussed anywhere. Do you have any good tips or ideas on how to come up with a good name? Meta question - is this really important? For self-publishing I assume it is, but if I find an agent, would them/the publisher come up with a marketing-ready title? Or are authors expected to create their own titles?
