Would a redemption story be a coming of age plot I want to write a story about a man in a bad place in his life and how he finds his way back to his destiny. A: Building empathy with a character and interest in a story Your problem is that you don't know your character. Until you know what drives the protagonist, you can't know his obstacles and so you can't establish the tension you need. I had a book recommended on this site called Monkeys and Typewriters that's helping me to understand this. (more) |
