This poses another confounding factor as well: context. Not just syntactic context like i described above, but also sematic context. We also need to distinguish words which would cause confusion and words which wouldn't. Although it's an interesting question, it seems like it'd be difficult to quantify due to confounding factors. Namely:

It is a more general consideration and I don't have any formal style guide I am following, It's mostly for instance when I am writing posts here or elsewhere.

What is the correct way to mark a section as a translation?
